Endangered is when a species of animal has very low population numbers and considered a high risk of extinction in the wild.

Direct habitat destruction by forest clearing damages most of the species, plus the ongoing exploitation and trade in animal parts. Also trophy hunting, poaching and the introduction of non native species into the habitat of endangered animals, disease, fires, pollution and climate change. All this adds to the ongoing demise of endangered animals on our planet.
