Wedding Trends to Look Out For in 2024

If you hear wedding bells ring or see confetti flying through the air, then that’s a good indication that it’s a new wedding season! Here at Zazzle, we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of trends – especially wedding trends that are more than just fads and are here to stay. Before you walk down the aisle, let us help you find inspiration that speaks to your style and amplifies your wedding, as opposed to having your wedding look just like everyone else’s.

We’ve compiled a list of upcoming wedding trends for 2024, as well as trends that will fulfill your dress dreams. You’ll be glad that 2024 is the year you finally decided to tie the knot!

Top Wedding Trends

Bold Colors

2024 is the year for vibrancy and for making a statement with eye-catching colors. This coming year, you’ll not only see the traditional muted pastels and classic whites, but bright colors will be everywhere. You can showcase your chosen bright colors in the flowers, table linens, and the lighting at the reception. Remember, this is your wedding, so it should be how you envision it. Go bold and leave your guests in awe!

Tip: A few colors we think will be big are greens, deep teals, blues, and purples. One purple in particular is lavender: you can add it to your bouquets, and centerpieces, or even concoct a lavender-infused drink! Our color pick for spring and summer weddings is beautiful bright yellow. It can be used for a bridesmaid dress or flower arrangement; you could even add a zesty twist to your wedding with the inclusion of lemons for cocktails

Wedding Weekends

Your wedding can be more than just a one-day occasion; why not make it a whole weekend? Many people have family and loved ones who live all around the world. Having a wedding weekend with a rehearsal dinner, wedding day, and brunch the next day ensures you get plenty of time with everyone. Some venues even offer better deals if you book for multiple days.

Audio Guestbooks

Forgo the old-style guest books where everyone writes a message; instead, offer guests a unique way to leave audio messages for the couple. Having a voice recorder creates a one-of-a-kind way for the couple to listen to their loved ones for years to come.

Veils

Wedding veils never go out of style and it’s been said that it’ll be a key wedding trend for 2024. Having a custom veil can make your bridal outfit unique to you and elevate your look. Choose the veil length that works best for you; whether you’re going for a big cathedral length to go with your beloved church or shoulder-length for a cute retro vibe, veils are in for 2024!

Wedding Rentals

Who knew rentals would become so popular? When you think about it, it’s not hard to understand why: you save some money, and it’s a more eco-friendly option as opposed to buying something you may not use again. You can rent your dress and the ceremony & reception décor. After your big day, you won’t have to worry about where to put everything or how to resell the items.

Dress Codes

Couples this coming year want to make sure they have the dream aesthetic for their wedding. It could be that you’re going for a Gatsby black-tie wedding, or you want it to be very casual in your backyard. Whatever you choose, it helps when the guests know what’s expected of them. Couples are now doing this to avoid any incidents arising where guests show up in something that doesn’t match their expectations.

Adult Only Weddings

Children can bring extra fun and joy to the wedding, but sometimes couples prefer more intimate adult-only gatherings. It’s not that you don’t love all the kids in your life, but you deserve to have your wedding how you want it. Perhaps the kids don’t fit with your idea of a black-tie wedding, or you may want to have your reception turned into a club after midnight. Kids are great but may not fit with the vibe you want! We are here to help with the ups & downs of hosting an adult-only wedding, see the article linked above for our tips and ideas.

Signage or Backdrops

Customized signage and backdrops will not only help your guests know where everything is but will also create a statement for your wedding and reception. You can create a picture-perfect moment with a wedding backdrop. As the evening turns to night you can turn on your light-up sign! Your guests will thank you for the help finding everything.

Sustainable Wedding

Sustainability isn’t just a trend but a way of life; once you realize your impact on the world, it’s hard to go back. A big change in weddings for 2024 and years to come is to have a wedding that’s as sustainable as possible. Consider digital invitations instead of paper invites, and opt for locally sourced flowers or food. Another popular way to be sustainable is to use vintage or heirloom dresses or rings; it not only reduces the need for new products, but it adds a touch of nostalgia.

Small is Beautiful

Hosting a micro-wedding is something that’s growing in popularity; if you’re not sure what a micro-wedding is, check out our article above. Many couples are embracing the idea of having an intimate guest list, allowing them to create a uniquely personalized experience for their guest and to have more flexibility with finances.

Wedding Dress Trends

All-Over Lace

Many people may feel that all-over lace is an old-fashioned idea for a wedding dress, but they never really go out of style. We’re not talking about your grandmother’s kind of lace (even though some gems can often be found in grandmother’s closet!) The current trend is to have an embroidered look to the lace, as it comes off quite pretty and less doily looking.

Colored Wedding Dresses

Your wedding dress doesn’t have to be white! More and more brides are choosing to wear colored wedding dresses. Colored dresses allow you to be a one-of-a-kind bride and showcase your unique style. Or, if you just want a little pop of color, you can also go for a colored veil.

Drop Waist is Back

Dropped-waist wedding dresses have been all over the runways. This wedding dress has the waist tucked in around your hips. This style can make you look taller and works for a variety of wedding themes. Regardless of what many believe, this is a silhouette that many body types can wear and look beautiful.

Sparkles

Don’t save the glitz and glamor for your reception dress; wear a bit of sparkle as you walk down the aisle. When you dance under the moonlight or in a grand ballroom later in the evening, it won’t only be your smile that is shining.

Weddings are a tradition as old as time, but trends & themes may vary depending on the time of year and even where your wedding is taking place. These are the trends we think will be big in the coming year for all engaged couples.
