I am what is known as a “Previvor”. My mother battled two types of breast cancer, following her passing we (my siblings and I) found out we had her mutant PALB2 gene. Armed with this info I took preventative measures and had a double mastectomy. People tell me I am Brave, in fact I am the opposite. A mastectomy for me was an easy decision, every day people want a cure for cancer, my cure was to avoid it. In June of 2021 I found out I had this gene, in October I started focusing my art on bringing awareness to breast cancer, self exams, and mastectomies. In December 2021 my suicidal breasts were removed. My pathology came back clear and I breathe a sigh of relief, but it's not over yet, my goal is to encourage others to get genetic testing and to advocate for themselves... Oh and to bring you art and merch, so you can do the same. Embrace who you are ALL of it. Don't be scared, breathe, relax, make a plan... and if you need a little retail therapy, I'm here for that too.
